Mission Trips

Every year we take a group of Trinity Youth on a Summer Mission Trip. The trips fall into one of three categories: Learning, Serving, or Building. A "Learning" trip would take us out of our comfort zones to a place where we have to learn to lean on God and our group to get us through challenges. A "Serving" trip would take us to a place where we have the opportunity to serve the people around us. Finally, a "Building" trip would take us to a conference or event where we meet with other Christians to learn about our faith and how it plays out in the world around us.

Mission Trip 2019

In 2019 we will be joining Center for Student Missions (CSM) again for a trip in to New York City. We will be Serving those who are homeless or home insecure and learning about how we can help those people who may be facing similar issues near us.
We are also going to be offering the SoulFest trip to those who may not be ready for a CSM trip. Our younger youth group members or families are welcome to join us at SoulFest. This is a group favorite and can easily accommodate families and schedules.

Learning

In 2015 we went on two different mission trips. We took a group of high school students on La Vida in Adirondack State Park and a group of Middle and High School Students to the Heifer Farm in Rutland, MA.

La Vida

La Vida is a 12 day backpacking trip in Upstate New York. the first few days are spent on team building elements as well as a high ropes course and rock climbing. The group then hikes into the woods to encounter the mountain top moments as well as the valleys. They may sleep in tents, under tarps or in lean to's. Group members carry everything they need for the trek including food and cooking supplies. This trip can be very challenging for students who have never been in this type of environment without their creature comforts: phones, ipods, or showers. Students learn to listen to their own bodies, to lean on their peers, and open up their hearts and minds to God.

Heifer Farm

The Heifer Farm Alternative Break combines experiential learning programs, such as the Global Gateway experience and team building activities, with service projects around the farm. The students experience daily life on the farm from morning and afternoon chores to running the goats and sheep from the barn to their pastures. Students have the opportunity to visit the Global Village on the daily basis. Each home in the village is a showcase of a typical home in a location Heifer International serves. The service projects allow students to learn the kind of work and effort required to run a farm while experiencing something for the first time - like milking a goat or harvesting vegetables.

Serving

In 2016 we went to Boston to serve with the Center for Student Missions (CSM)

Center for Student Missions

On a CSM Mission Trip:
You will  live in the city – experiencing firsthand the sights, sounds, smells, and textures of urban life. Our housing options are located in the heart of their respective city. You also eat at local ethnic restaurants and discover the delights of Salvadorian, Middle Eastern, Filipino, African–American, and other cuisine.
You will learn about the city – unique issues and problems that city dwellers face and what God is doing to foster and further His Kingdom in the city, through the indigenous organizations that operate on the front lines of urban ministry.
You will become part of the solutions for the city – by offering your time, energy and sweat as you support these indigenous "ministry sites." CSM plugs you into a variety of hands-on ministry opportunities to ensure that your time in the city is spent supplying substantive help to God’s people in the city.

Building

In 2017 and 2018 we went to a youth and family conference called SoulFest at Gunstock Mountain Resort in Guilford, New Hampshire.

Soul Fest

Celebrating 20 years of Music, Love & Action – the SoulFest, will be held August 3 – 5, 2017 in the picturesque mountains and lakes region of Gilford, New Hampshire at Gunstock Mountain Resort. Gunstock provides an idyllic setting for this one-of-a-kind celebration gathering over 13,000 attendees and more than 100 artists and speakers. As New England’s largest Christian music festival, SoulFest has become a summer staple to numerous families throughout the New England area.
