Good Afternoon Parents and Teachers!
Sunday school- Regular Sunday School this week.
Youth Group- MSYG-11:30 to 1pm in the Youth Room. We are going to be recapping some of the lessons we missed because of the Pumpkin Patch.
SHYG- is not going to meet Sunday Mornings for the time being. Instead you have been invited to join the young adult Movie Marathon Sundays from 6:30-9pm. Beginning this Sunday we will be doing the current DC Cinematic Universe (DCCU) Movie Marathon: Showing Man of Steel November 5th, Batman vs. Superman November 12th, and Wonder Woman November 26th all showings will be from 6:30-9pm
Pumpkin Patch- we survived another Pumpkin Patch season! YAY! Our total sales numbers are in! We were able to sell $15,448 worth of pumpkins. That means we will keep about $2,600 to help cover the cost of our Youth Group Mission Trip. We keep 33.3% as profit which will be split between Trinity and First Church’s Youth Programs. Congratulations and thank you, for all your hard work!
Mission Trip 2018- I am actively preparing for next year’s mission trip to Houston. We have been in contact with the same Travel agent that Tara Smith uses for her school trips and I have spoken with group to hold our spot. Because this trip has been very popular we are going to have to move quickly to put our deposits in before it fills up. Deposits of $100 per person are going to be due December 1. We will have the financial breakdown of the trip and the flights for you during the Mission Trip Pot Luck. Please make sure that you are prompt with these deposits. There will be no room for late entrants.
Also, this will be a multi-generational trip similar to our trip to New Orleans after Katrina. Anyone who is interested in going on this trip MUST participate in the Pumpkin Patch and any other fundraising opportunities. Between the cost of travel and a week with Group Work Camps, this trip is going to be expensive. There will be no opportunities for scholarships without intense participation in fundraising. Shifts are available at the patch; Students can go door to door to sell wreaths and calendars. Make every effort to help defray the cost of this trip.
For anyone who is not interested in going to Houston next year, we are also going to be welcoming Matt from Camp Washington during the Pot Luck Mission Trip meeting on November 19th. He will come to discuss camp options with us and answer any questions you may have about summer camp at Camp Washington. Any Fundraising participation can also go toward a week at Camp.
See you Sunday!
Wreaths orders are due November 12th . Order forms are available for those who want to sell wreaths.
We will be doing our We Are The Children Toy Drive November 19th through December 16th.
Calendar sales will begin December 3rd and go through the end of the year. Also, the Christmas Pageant is going to be one that was thought up by our own Addie Malley. The Pageant is going to be December 17th during the 9:45 am Service. So mark it on your calendars now and make sure you can be there for this wonderful pageant.
