The pumpkin Patch is back!!!
View this email in your browser
Hello Parents and Teachers!

Youth Groups- Both Middle and High School Youth groups will be meeting at 5 pm.  Last week we got some volunteering time in and trimmed the rose bushes. This week we are going to work out some of the thing we want to see in a Family service and create the bulletin board advertisement.

Pumpkin Patch- The Pumpkin Patch is a multi- church fundraiser started by the Trinity Youth Program 17 years ago. Since then, we have had some good years and some not so good years, we have moved to Tariffville, and moved back to First Church, and in the last three years, we began splitting the responsibilities with members of First Church, Simsbury. In our area, many people love going to our Pumpkin Patch. They love the ambiance we create; they love that this is a non-profit endeavor and they love our family events. The Pumpkin Patch is more than a way to raise money! It is a way for us to meet our neighbors while helping to serve the Native American farmers who grow the pumpkins and live off the proceeds from patches like ours. We need your help, we need help setting up the pumpkin patch, we need help moving pumpkins, and we need help covering shifts. We need you and all your friends to come with drills, rakes, tools, wheelbarrows, and trucks. We need you to invite your friends to buy pumpkins from our patch. We need you.
Sign up to help cover a shift on the bulletin board in the Welcome Foyer. You can also use your smartphone’s camera or a QR reader to connect to the Signup Genius, which is the most up to date volunteer database. Or, if none of that works for you, come find me and I will get you a shift.

Making it work: Being a Faithful Christian in a Crazy, Busy World- during Camp ROAR, I had the opportunity to get a glimpse into how busy your lives are. Between work, kids, church, house, and any other responsibilities you face, your priorities and focus are constantly pulled in different directions. So, I asked myself, how are parents supposed to be faithful Christians when they are so stressed out, busy, and overwhelmed? We are going to be putting on a short class this fall which will take a holistic approach to how we care for ourselves so that we can be more fully present to our kids, spouses, and other responsibilities.
Question of the Week: When you think about reading the bible, what is the first thought that comes to mind? Is it favorable or does the idea of reading the bible fill you with dread?   Mandalavallee@gmail.com  (Obviously, no judgment; I have been to both places…)

See you Sunday!

Happy Summer everyone!
Labor Day Monday- Trinity Beach Day at Burr Pond on September 2! As long as you have a CT license plate it is free to get in!!
This is what I need from you: Tell me two things you wish you had time for. Mandalavallee@gmail.com
Looking toward the fall we are going to have several new initiatives specifically for families! Youth Group is going to look different: we are working on creating a hands-on, family focused, 5:00 service on Sunday nights. Can you imagine: sleeping in on Sunday and still getting to church?  Having dinner with your family every Sunday Night and still learning about Jesus? Eating dinner DURING church? Participating in small group conversations every week without having to add an extra meeting? I am so excited to get this going! I hope you are too.
And we will revamp the monthly Friday night young family gatherings. Big 3 Dinners will be back. This fall we are going to be focusing on making church accessible. We want to know what works and what does not. What ideas do you have which can make things work better for your families? What things are we not doing that we should consider adding? Thinks about these questions and come ready to get to know each other as well!
Have a wonderful, peaceful, relaxing summer with your families. And remember to rest!!

Happy Summer everyone!

Summer Sunday Program- We are going to do our Summer Sunday program beginning June 23rd. The signup sheet will be going up on one of the bulletin boards in the foyer. As you may recall we give all our Sunday school Teachers the entire summer off, so please consider taking a Sunday to be a teacher for an hour. We have the program all set up for you, and the kids love it. Please see me if you have questions!

Labor Day Monday- Trinity Beach Day at Burr Pond on September 2! As long as you have a CT license plate it is free to get in!!

7/23 Preschool Teachers Wanted!

7/23/2019

I wonder how many of you have watched our children file up the center aisle before the children’s sermon on Sunday mornings and smiled to yourself. How many of you look at those children and think about your children or your grandchildren? Do you feel like you have missed out on helping to teach some of the kids in your life about Jesus? I know some of you do because we have spoken about it. I am looking for two people to join the Preschool Teachers this year. You will be working alongside veteran teachers; you will always be with another teacher and maybe even a teaching assistant. This is your opportunity to lead and to teach the next generation of Christians. They need you!
Please contact Manda at Mandalavallee@gmail.com or by phone at 860.836.6129

Thank you!

Stations of the Cross and the Easter Egg Hunt are all coming up!
View this email in your browser
Good afternoon Parents and Teachers!

Stations of the Cross- We have had very low sign up participation for the stations of the cross service this year. This wonderful, student led service, is designed to be short and family friendly, and explains Good Friday in a way children can understand. But in order to keep running it, we need more actors and readers! Please let me know if your children want to help. And Parents, you are welcome to help too, we are always looking for more actors and background helpers. We need help with crowd control during the practice, and with lighting and directing during the service.  Email me at Mandalavallee@gmail.com if you would like to sign up.

Coffee with Manda and Fr. Taylor- This Friday April 5th from 10 am until noon, Manda and Fr. Taylor will be having office hours at Ana’s Kitchen in Simsbury. It was so much fun last week we are going to do it again!! Ana’s Kitchen is located in the Plaza between Fitzgerald’s and CVS, across from where we have the Pumpkin Patch. As a little enticement, Fr. Taylor has said he will buy any Trinity Member a coffee just for stopping by. So, stop by! We would love to catch up with you.
Sunday School- Regular Sunday School this week.

Youth Group- Middle and High School students will be meeting at 7 pm in the youth room for Dinner and Worship. Bring your instruments!

Easter Egg Hunt- the Easter Egg Hunt is coming up!! The Saturday Before Easter, April 20th, at 11 am is our Annual Trinity Easter Egg Hunt! At 9 am we begin “Hiding” the eggs and around 10:30am the Easter Bunny is going to come hopping around to see how we did and to meet some new friends. We separate the kids out into a toddler/preschool area, grades k through 2, 3 through 5, and older. That way everyone has a fair share of eggs to find. But don’t be late! We begin exactly at 11 am and all the eggs are found by 11:05

Camp ROAR- Camp Roar already has 20 campers signed up!!! Our goal is 40 campers so keep sharing the registration info with all your friends. The Volunteer registration is up to 14!! Woo Hoo! Thank you all for signing up so early. This year we have started a nursery and preschool group lead by Lindsey and Jake Salomonsson. They are super excited to be leading the charge with this new group of kids. Taking care of these younger ones will also mean that more moms can volunteer as leaders and helpers! Camp ROAR is doing wonderful things already!

Good Afternoon Parents and Teachers!

Big 3 Dinner Lenten edition- our next Big 3 Dinner is March 15th. We are going to do Dinner at 6 pm, then the kids will go down to the Youth Room with our Babysitters and the adults will participate in the Lenten program with Fr. Taylor.

Sunday School- Regular Sunday School this week.
Youth Group- No Youth group this week, instead we are going to have CPR and First Aid Training with Melissa and Jason Osborne. If any  senior high student would like to be trained they are welcome to join us at no charge.  The cost will be covered by the youth group fund.  Just let Manda know ahead of time.

Camp ROAR- Camp Roar already has 14 campers signed up!!! Our goal is 40 campers so keep sharing the registration info with all your friends. The Volunteer registration is holding steady at 11.

Egg Stuffing Party- on March 30th from 12-2 pm we are going to have an Egg Stuffing Party. This is the time when we get as many hands as possible filling the Easter Eggs which we will be hiding and finding during the Easter Egg hunt on April 20th at 11 am.  We will be doing a pizza and salad lunch and watching a family friendly movie. Hope to see you all there!
See you Sunday!

Ash Wednesday is today

Happy Ash Wednesday Parents and Teachers!

Ash Wednesday Family Service- Today at 4:30 in the Chapel is the Ash Wednesday Family Service. Or if you can’t make that one there is a larger service at 7 pm in the Church. The one at 4:30 will be more hands on and active to keep the kids engaged. The one at 7 pm will be a more traditional Ash Wednesday service.
Sunday School- DIGG Church this week.

Youth Group- MSYG and SHYG are both going to meet after church. We are going to play a few games, then do a quick lesson and split up for discussion time. I also encourage everyone to go to Evensong this Sunday at 5:30pm for a time of quiet reflection, readings, and song.

Camp ROAR- Camp Roar already has 14 campers signed up!!! Our goal is 40 campers so keep sharing the registration info with all your friends. The Volunteer registration is holding steady at 11.
